Veolia Environnement’s activities are at the crossroads of several major challenges facing the modern world:

Leading water services operator

The water division of Veolia Environment, is the world leader in water and wastewater services. Specialized in outsourcing services for municipal authorities, as well as industrial and service companies, it is also one of the world's major designers of technological solutions and constructor of facilities needed in water and wastewater services.

With 96 651 employees in 69 countries, Veolia Water provides water service to 100 million people and wastewater service to 73 million.

The Brussels-North wastewater treatment plant

Aquiris is a subsidiary of the international group Veolia, was founded following a call for tender issued by the Brussels-capital Region for the design, construction and operation of a wastewater treatment plant in Brussels-North for a period of twenty years. This plant treats the wastewater produced by 1.4 million inhabitants. Operations started in March 2007.

Thanks to the expertise provided by Veolia Water and its commitment to the plant, AQUIRIS has diligently fulfilled the mission entrusted to it: on the one hand, AQUIRIS respects the environment and protects the local residents’ health; on the other, the company encourages human, technological and economic development on a local level.
